Violet & Shiloh

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt was on the cover of a magazine this past week and I got several comments about how much she looks like my little Violet. I have to admit there are some serious similarities! What do you guys think?

So what do think? Can you tell who is who?

Violet's 1st Birthday Party--Invitation

I decided this year to have a family party for Violet's 1st Birthday. Everyone is welcome to come if they feel comfortable with mine and Zach's family swarming around and monopolizing most of the time. We would love to see you though if you want to come. Let me know and I will happily run you over an invitation. If you don't want to come, that's cool too. Here is the invitation for you to look at. The theme is "Winter Wonderland." I'm sure I will post pics after the party is over.

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause

This was going to be our Christmas card--but it just didn't work out. When I sat down to design the card, I just wasn't feeling the love . . .But the pics are cute, so I decided to post them on here. Look for our Christmas card (much more traditional) sometime this week.

My Christmas Decorations

We were really excited to put up our decorations this year (as always)--but it seemed our neighbors were much more excited as they decorated before Thanksgiving was even over. I've been meaning to post some pictures of our recent remodeling--but there are still some more things to do, but there's a sneak peak in some of these pics.

I love the outside of our house during Christmas. I am way proud of myself for the wreaths in the windows, because not only do I like how they look, but Zach doesn't have to get on the roof to string lights in the freezing cold! Love you Zach.

Violet's First Snow Day

So we woke up pretty early to take some pictures of Violet in the freshly-fallen snow for her birthday invitation. She pretty much hated the whole experience. This really surprised me because she loves to try new things and loves to be outside. What can I say, every time we tried to put her down in the show, she screamed. We still got some cute pics though!

Violet's First Halloween

So before we knew whether we were having a boy or a girl, we knew we were having a panda. We had the best halloween ever. I usually hate the holiday, but that was before Violet.

Sleeping Like a Baby

I always say that I have a really weird baby and people want to know why. I usually can't figure out an answer--she is just so quirky. Besides the fact that I think she is the best thing in the whole world, I love love love her little personality. I finally found an example of her weirdness and it comes in her sleeping habits. I guess I have a little fixation for taking pictures of her while she is asleep, because I've found her doing so many cute/weird things while she was sleeping. Check it out.

A little explanation. She is pretty dramatic (Zach thinks I am too) and so when I saw her hand on her forehead while she was sleeping I thought it was a perfect example of how passionate she feels! I found her sucking her thumb while she was sleeping once and she basically never did it again. She snuggled up to Pandy. Once I put clean fresh out of the dryer laundry on her and she fell asleep. She can bend her body in unbelievable ways.

Our Summer in Review: Part Two

I know it's been a little while since my last post, but let me tell you about the rest of our summer.

After Cheer Camp, we went to Bear Lake with the Wily Family. This is becoming an annual tradition and it is so much fun. This time we had a boat and we put Violet in the smallest life vest we could find. I'll try to get this picture from my parents-in-law. It is so cute. Violet has really loved the water this summer.

We took swimming lessons with Cohen, Cash, and Warren (sometimes). It was a little bit too cold for Violet on a couple of the days, but she was really cute in her swimsuit.

The highlight of my summer was seeing Richard Marx in concert! Honestly, Zach and I decided to go kind of as a joke because he was so popular in the 80s. But the concert was packed and Richard Marx was awesome. He is so cool and he doesn't take himself very seriously. We were on the front row and had so much fun. I really can't believe how much fun I had. Here is an up close and personal shot of Richard Marx. (He is super short)

Finally, to end the summer, we went to Vegas with my side of the family. I don't know what we were thinking, cause it was so ridiculously hot. Zach and I went and saw Phantom of the Opera, and I went with my sisters and dad to see Celine Dion. Celine was awesome--it was so good. Zach talked me into going to Hoover Dam, which was actually pretty cool. We also ate at a lot of great places including The Cheesecake Factory and the Bellagio Buffet.

It was surely a crazy summer. Being a mom makes every little thing more fun. The fourth of July was more fun than usual, the fireworks were magical. Getting in the water seems so much more exciting. Riding in a boat is a new thrill. My outlook on life is so much more positive with Violet around. Love you all.

Our Summer in Review

I know I don't see everyone very often, but I do keep busy. This post is to let you know what we did this summer and just how cute Violet was while we were doing it. She hit many milestones this summer. She learned to sit up by herself and got her two bottom teeth; she also now says dadadadadada. Just in the past month she got two top teeth and learned to hold her own bottle (yay)!

In June, we went to San Francisco for Zach to attend WWDC. It's an apple developer conference, or geek fest. We stayed in a cool hotel room with corner windows and Violet and I played all day and then went to dinner with Daddy at night. It was really fun and while we were there, we got this fun pic of Violet doing her upside-down backbend. This is one weird baby.

When we got home, we went to the PG Pool for the first time. This is the first time Violet wore a swimsuit.

Violet was so much fun on the fourth of July. She HATED the Provo parade. She cried every time noisy stuff went by, which was basically always. She looked really cute though. We put her to bed early, then woke her up for the PG Fireworks. She loved the fireworks and couldn't take her eyes off of them.

After the fourth, we went up to Seattle for my brother Chris' wedding. Violet was the star of the show. There are lots of pics of her, just none on my computer.

Then we were lucky enough to go to cheer camp. It was so hot. Violet learned how to drink water from a sippy cup. I did so much walking and sweating, it was awful. But it was fun to play with the girls and the cheerleaders just love Violet.

Look at my baby!!

I honestly don't know where this baby came from. She is so awesome--just beautiful and totally fun and really quirky. She is almost 10 months and these are some of our favorite pictures from this summer. If you want to see how much she has changed . . . check out violet.wilys.com.

I'm lovin' it.

So I've had a blog for a couple years . . .check it out. kamille.wilys.com BUT-- I haven't really used it to keep everyone up to date with our lives, so I've created a new one where all of my friends whom I love can see that I still do exist and even keep busy. I LOVE READING YOUR BLOGS SO KEEP THOSE POSTS COMING!
